How India's SHAKTI fares against INTEL and ARM

How India's SHAKTI fares against INTEL and ARM

SHAKTI IIT is an open-source initiative by the RISE Group in Madras.
The power is based on the RISC-V

instruction set Il that explain in simple terms what is in the later article they are 3 core variants currently known as E class, C class and I class. The E class is for embedded applications such as a robotic controller board and the IoT board is a controller class for mobile like the C class application and can run up to 1.5 GHz.
I am class performance oriented and can run at around 2.5 Ghz clock speed. They also have plans for a multi-core processor that will combine C class cores and I class cores.

He also has plans for a supercomputer class processor, which will be called parallel shakti or para shakti. These chips can be used in future or in your phone in ISRO's NavIC satellites and many other applications. C-class cores will compete mostly with ARM. ARM is the one that designs chips inside your phone. Companies such as Qualcomm, Samsung and MediaTek use these designs. You may have heard words like the Cortex A57 or something similar designed by ARM. More on that later we will talk about how 2 types of C class processors have been designed later, one of them was manufactured by Intel based on 22 nm called RISECREEK made for free. Made exclusively in India by ISRO was run exclusively by ISRO based on 180 RIMO

How India's SHAKTI fares against INTEL and ARM

called RIMO, but this is a big achievement but using the Chandigarh facility mostly for our DEFENSE and SPACE needs Is done, when I asked NEI sir if they plan on building their own facility, their response is on screen so why is SHAKTIi defenet? The fact that it uses the open source RISC-V instruction architecture
In simple words is the processor architecture with which you communicate with your own architecture with the processor NTL and ARM. If you reverse engineer and release our own commercial products you will have to deal with many lawsuits
RISC V is an open source, on the other hand, suppose you go to buy a car, but you are forced to buy a truck with it
Same problem with INTEL and ARM
You cannot choose which specific instructions, or a specific design you want to use. You have to buy them all, however with RISC V, we can use RISC-V to create a custom chip design for your needs. The makers of RISC V have their own startup named SciFive from IIT Madras. The upcoming startup will be called Core. Note that, some time will be required.
RISC V has many advantages and may be the main benefit of power. Now let's talk about Shakti's upcoming Indian Compeition f which you have seen on my video PARAM 8000, India's first supercomputer knows about ull CDAC.
Ivy talked in detail about Vijay BhatkarSir and CDAC CDAC - Center for the Development of Advanced Computing They are responsible for creating several super computers from INDIA and research on advanced computing I had heard that CDAC is developing its own supercomputers. So I asked Neil Sir if it would be a competition for power, so he said that according to him this is its internal use so what CDAC is actually doing is not sure.
Now let's compare the C class to Intel and ARM Neil Sir's ARM Incase has told me that it compares with the A55 im not really sure on the INTEL side, it's honestly unfair to compare, so Not that power is a little
Because both of these use different methods of implementing the architecture, most processors are based on the von Neumann architecture and I do not consider it complex. I will explain it in simple terms. Shakti is based on Harvard architecture which requires instructions and data for new processors. We would imagine it as water and gas. The instructions tell us what action is taken on the data. Basically the Newman architecture uses the same pipe for both water and gas. Ie instructions and data whereas the Harvard architecture uses a separate pipe for water and gas that data. There are more instructions.
This is why the performance gains over HarvardBut are high, there are some advantages of Shakti that others do not have.
So now let's talk about Startup which will come out of this. It will be called InCore
Their business model will be similar to ARM's
So they are more interested in chip design and not manufacturing so if you want to make a custom design processor they can help you but if you want to build the chip through them or you chose another company is
So if they want a new chip to control the movement of the DRDO or ISRO engine, they can specifically design it with InCore and then ISRO decides what it is built from which buys the ARM's buisness Remember the model, very similar
They design, brands get Qualcomm Snapdragon licenses from them and then they decide who it was to be manufactured from last year, it was Samsung. This year it is TSMC but ARM will always make more money because they have their own Architecture is ARM. Architecture is not open source. InCore earn relatively little.
RSIC V is open source so you only pay for the design. Startups have to bear this.
InCore has manufacturing partners
Now before we talk about a big problem, let's talk about the benefits of it.
The biggest security is when we buy a processor from someone abroad, we only know what they tell us. We do not know what they do not tell us and this is a big issue for national missions. Like Intels, two major bugs were found this year, while Shakti gets you involved in the design process.
So you know that the customizability inside and outside the range of the processor allows us to create custom designs as I mentioned earlier that in the car truck example you can get just what you want with 2 wheels. Want a car? No one will question you
And tell us about the trust factor of an Indian company, now let's talk about the big problem. I have a poll in the i button above. Please tell me how many of you actually knew about Shakti before reading this article?
